BMW E46 M3 Touring Concept
Inspiration for our BMW E46 M3 Touring Conversions is the only BMW E46 M3 Touring Concept ever built by BMW M, which is kept in the BMW museum in Munich, Germany. BMW secretly built a single E46 M3 Touring in 2000 as a test, but it was never meant to see the light of day. This elusive prototype stayed hidden in BMW’s vault for years, only being revealed to the public in 2020.

Functionalism and sportiness
The BMW E34 M5 Touring and BMW E61 M5 Touring did go into production at the time, two fantastic M5 Tourings that beautifully combine functionalism and sportiness. It is therefore unfortunate that the BMW E46 M3 Touring has never saw the light of day. The reason for us to build and redevelop this missing BMW.

Building a BMW E46 M3 Touring
The basis for building a BMW E46 M3 Touring is a regular BMW E46 Touring and a donor BMW E46 M3 Coupé or Convertible. Because the front fenders of a Touring have a different length, the front fenders of the donor M3 must be adjusted to be able to be mounted on the Touring. We use the rear wheel edges of the donor M3 to widen the rear wings of the Touring. These are taken from the body of the donor M3 and welded into the body of the Touring. The trunk floor of the Touring also needs to be replaced with that of the donor M3, in order for the M3 exhaust system to fit under the Touring. The hood of the donor M3 fits exactly on a Touring and is easily transferred. Finally, the chassis of the Touring is additionally reinforced at the mounting points of the rear subframe by welding in steel strips to absorb the heavier forces caused by the higher power of the S54. Because so much bodywork is required for building a BMW E46 M3 Touring, we always repaint the complete bodywork.

Build to order
We build the BMW E46 M3 Touring Conversions to order at the direction of our clients, according to their desired color scheme and option list. In addition, extra options and customizations are also possible, such as:

- CSL wheels
Building time
Building a BMW E46 M3 Touring will take around one year and will be done in close collaboration with the client.
Costs
The cost of building a BMW E46 M3 Touring in mint condition is around €95,000. For that price, the car is like new, meaning it comes with new paint, a new interior, and a new S54 engine with 0 kilometers on the odometer. It is also possible to install a used S54 engine. In that case, the cost is around €75,000–85,000.
